Rep. Louie Gohmert: Time for Boehner to Go as Speaker
Wednesday, 21 May 2014 08:54 PM
"I do think it’s kind of like the VA," the Texas Republican said Wednesday on Sean Hannity's radio show. "When you’re not keeping your promises, nothing personal, but it’s time for new leadership. And I really think that come January, we’ll have new leadership, I really do." "Read More"
Gohmert didn't answer Hannity's question of how many people he has on his side, alluding instead to the 2013 vote where 21 originally planned to vote against Boehner. In the end, only nine did.
"I think there'll be a lot more than that this time," he said.

"I'm the one person that nominated somebody else," Gohmert added. "I voted for Allen West. I nominated Newt Gingrich before that." Neither West nor Gingrich were members of the House when Gohmert voted for them, but rules do not require the House speaker to be a member of Congress.
When Hannity asked if he has a candidate in mind to run against Boehner, Gohmert replied, "That's something that we're working on."
