Asociatia Alburnus Maior se solidarizeaza cu toate comunitatile din tara
ce lupta impotriva proiectelor distructive de minerit pe baza de cianuri.
Alaturi de respingerea proiectului legislativ de distrugere a Rosiei
Montane, impreuna cu respingerea acordului de mediu si includerea
localitatii pe lista de propuneri a Romaniei pentru UNESCO, Alburnus Maior
si sustinatorii sai cer interzicerea prin lege a folosirii cianurilor in
minerit. Retelele de socializare anunta continuarea protestelor si
sustinerea comuna a listei de revendicari. In Romania mai sunt 68 de
zacaminte aurifere pe care le au in vedere spre exploatare mai multe
companii in localitati precum Bucium, Baia Mare, Certej, Baita
Craciunesti, Rovina.

Dear members of the press,

Alburnus Maior Association declares its solidarity with all the
communities in the country fighting against destructive cyanide-based
mining projects. The Association and all its supporters demand not only
the rejection of the law project which would destroy Rosia Montana, the
rejection of the environmental permit and the inclusion of the locality on
the tentative UNESCO list, but also the ban of the use of cyanide in
mining. The social networks announce the continuation of the protests and
the common support of the list of demands. In Romania, in various
localities like Bucium, Baia Mare, Certej, Baita Craciunesti, Rovina,
there are other 68 gold ore deposits which different companies intend to
exploit.

România fără cianură! Protestele continuă până la interzicerea cianurilor în minerit!

 

10 septembrie 2013 - Asociația Alburnus Maior se solidarizează cu toate comunitățile din țară ce luptă împotriva proiectelor distructive de minerit pe bază de cianuri. Alături de respingerea proiectului legislativ de distrugere a Roșiei Montane, împreună cu respingerea acordului de mediu și includerea localității pe lista de propuneri a României pentru UNESCO, Alburnus Maior și susținătorii săi cer interzicerea prin lege a folosirii cianurilor în minerit. Rețelele de socializare anunță continuarea protestelor și susținerea comună a listei de revendicări. În România mai sunt 68 de zăcăminte aurifere pe care le au în vedere spre exploatare mai multe companii în localități precum  Bucium, Baia Mare, Certej, Băița Crăciunețti, Rovine.

 

Ieri s-a adoptat în Senat parcurgerea în procedură de urgență a proiectului legislativ numărul B560 “Lege privind unele măsuri aferente exploatării minereurilor auro-argentifere din perimetrul Roşia Montană şi stimularea şi facilitarea dezvoltării activităţilor miniere în România”. În continuare susținătorii campaniei sunt invitați să își contacteze parlamentarii și să le ceară să voteze împotriva acestei propuneri legislative de distrugere a Roșiei Montane.

 

La Roșia Montană continuă lucrările de restaurare a clădirilor istorice incluse în programul “Adoptă o casă” și activitățile Școlii de Vară ARA. Din nefericire, angajați ai companiei bruschează și amenință voluntarii prezenți. “Noi suntem pe schele și lucrăm la restaurarea caselor vechi și de patrimoniu din Roșia Montană. Lucrăm sub tirul continuu și neobosit al înjurăturilor și amenințărilor pe care le primim din partea minerilor. Aceștia stau toată ziua prin Piața Veche sau în fața birourilor companiei, iar în unele cazuri colegi de-ai noștri au fost îmbrânciți sau agresați verbal. Minerii se liniștesc doar când apare vreo echipă de la vreo televiziune, când își schimbă discursul într-unul lacrimogen de tipul 'nu avem ce mânca, vrem loc de muncă'. Noi ne dorim să fim lăsați să terminăm lucrările programului “Adoptă o casă” înainte ca studenții voluntari să plece pentru reînceperea anului universitar”, a declarat Virgil Apostol, membru ARA.

 

Protestele din București continuă adunând peste 1000 de oameni ce au blocat Bulevardul Regina Elisabeta cerând interzicerea cianurilor în minerit. Momentul cel mai emoționant al serii a fost reprezentat de concertul de muzică clasică a trei viori și un violoncel. Acest eveniment a readus participanților aminte de dimensiunea culturală a Campaniei Salvați Roșia Montană ce cere de mai mulți ani Ministerului Culturii includerea Roșiei Montane pe lista tentativă a României pentru UNESCO.

 

Protestele în stradă vor continua până în momentul în care:

- Parlamentul, prin Senat ți Camera Deputaților, va vota respingerea proiectului de lege;

- Guvernul va respinge în procedură de urgență prin hotărâre de guvern acordul de mediu;

- Roția Montană va fi inclusă pe lista tentativa a României pentru UNESCO;

- Cianura va fi interzisă prin lege în activitățile miniere din România;

- Cei patru iniţiatori ai acestui proiect de lege: ministrul marilor proiecte (Dan Şova), cel al mediului (Rovana Plumb), cel al culturii (Daniel Barbu) şi directorul ANRM (Gheorghe Duţu) vor fi demiți.

 

Pagina de Facebook Rosia Montana în UNESCO World Heritage, alături de multiple altele din mediile de socializare, anunță o nouă mobilizare generală pentru data de 15 septembrie. Toți cei ce doresc interzicerea prin lege a folosirii cianurilor în minerit sunt așteptați la manifestările din  străzile numeroaselor orașe din țară și străinătate.

Cyanide free Romania! The protests continue until the use of cyanide in

 mining operations is forbidden!

 

10^th of September 2013 - Alburnus Maior Association declares its solidarity with all the communities in the country fighting against destructive cyanide-based mining projects. The Association and all its supporters demand not only the rejection of the law project which would destroy Rosia Montana, the rejection of the environmental permit and the inclusion of the locality on the tentative UNESCO list, but also the ban of the use of cyanide in mining. The Romanian Senate agreed yesterday to follow the procedure of an emergency bill in the case of the law project number B560 “Law concerning some measures associated with the exploitation of the gold-silver ore from Rosia Montana perimeter and the stimulation and facilitation of the development of mining activities in Romania”. The supporters of the campaign are invited to contact the MPS representing them and ask them to vote against this law project which would lead to the destruction of Rosia Montana.

 

Rosia Montana still hosts the restoration process of the historical buildings included in the programme “Adopt a house” and the activities of ARA Summer School. Unfortunately, company employees aggress and threaten the volunteers. “We are on the scaffoldings, working for the restoration of the old patrimony houses in Rosia Montana. Our work is continuously accompanied by the unstoppable flux of the miners’ swearing and threats. All day long they stay in the Old Market or in front of the company blocks and in some cases colleagues of ours were shoved and verbally aggressed. The miners are calm only when some TV crew shows up. Then, they adopt an impressionable discourse, constantly declaring: 'we have no means of living, we want a job'. We wish to be left alone so that we can close our work in the programme “Adopt a house” before the volunteer students leave for their new university year”, declared Virgil Apostol, one of the ARA members.

 

The protests in Bucharest continue, with more than 1000 people blocking Bulevardul Regina Elisabeta and demanding the ban of cyanide mining. The most impressive moment of the evening was the classical music concert offered by some Conservatory students. This event reminded the participants of the cultural dimension of Save Rosia Montana Campaign, a campaign which has been asking for years the Ministry of Culture the inclusion of Rosia Montana on the tentative UNESCO list for Romania.

 

The protests in the street will continue until:

- the Parliament, through the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, will vote the rejection of the law project;

- the Government will reject the environmental permit following the procedure for an emergency bill through Government decision;

- Rosia Montana is included on the tentative UNESCO list for Romania;

- cyanide is forbidden by law in the mining exploitations in Romania;

- the four initiators of the law project: the Minister Delegate for infrastructure projects of national interest and foreign investments (Dan Şova), the Minister of Environment and Climate Change (Rovana Plumb), the Minister of Culture and Cults (Daniel Barbu) and the ANRM manager (Gheorghe Duţu) are removed from office.

 

The Facebook page Rosia Montana in UNESCO World Heritage, together with other multiple social media, announces a new general mobilisation for the 15^th of September. All those who agree with the ban of cyanide use in mining are welcome to the street demonstrations in different towns in Romania and abroad.
