Nu se înţelegea care istorie străveche, pentru că ministrul nu a explicat, la vremea respectivă, despre ce vorbeşte. După trei săptămâni, în loc să înceapă decopertarea la Regia, Diaconu a fost dat afară din minister şi din guvern, iar proiectul său a fost “înmormântat”.
